The Products Used To Draw An Eye With Makeup On To My Hand

Hi everyone!

I’ve been seeing pictures everywhere lately with people applying eye makeup on to their hands and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

I decided to try it out and was so surprised with the results.

Here’s a list of the products I used to create this look:

Eye lashes: For the eyelashes I used the black liner from Sephora. It’s the the Mickey and Minnie Collection from Spring 2016.

Sephora-Minnie-Mouse-Eyeliner-Duo-1.jpg

Eyeshadow: For the eyeshadow I used the Naked Palette 3 from Urban Decay.

Outer Lid: Darkside and Mugshot

Brow Bone: Strange

Middle of the Lid: trick, dust, and buzz.

Concealer: I used my NYX HD Photogenic Concealer Wand in the shade C7. I used the concealer for the middle of the lid to really make the glitter pop.

My Must Have Beauty Products

Untitled design (21)

Hey guys! Happy Friday!!I hope you all have an amazing weekend. I apologize for not posting about beauty in so long but I’m back!!

I would love to know what your must have beauty products are. Comment down below your favourite products!

Thanks for reading!!

L’Oreal True Match Foundation

This was actually the first foundation I’ve ever tried and I was amazed at the quality. I’ve been using this foundation for almost two years now and absolutely love the matte finish. Whenever I wear this foundation, I always get compliments on how smooth my skin looks. A friend of mine even thought it was the Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation. I’m in the shade W8: Creme Cafe and it blends so easily. If any of you want to try a drugstore foundation, I would definitely recommend this one.LOreal True Match Foundation (omnibus)The Naked Palette 3

This is my go-to palette for any look. Whether I’m doing a subtle look, or smokey eye, this palette does it all. I was a little sceptical when I first bought this product of how much pink shades there are. I don’t usually wear pinks because I’m medium/deep skin tone so pinks usually don’t look as flattering on my skin tone. However, all of the shades in the Naked Palette 3 are flattering on all skin tones.

This primer is the most amazing primer I’ve ever used. It makes my skin feel and look so smooth. I’ve been using this primer for years and never found another primer that compared.

sbx_sku_37073_875x773_0The Covergirl Lash Blast Clump Crusher Mascara

This is one of my favourite mascaras. It does an amazing job at lengthening my eyelashes without any clumps. I would recommend this mascara to anyone whose looking for a great drugstore mascara.

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit (Powder)

I bought this kit in Light-Medium because I really wanted the banana powder to set my under eye. This contour kit does an amazing job at sculpting and definitions my face.

Review: Elf Cosmetics Volumizing Mascara

Mascara makes everything better

When I saw this mascara sitting on the shelf at my local Walmart I wondered how well can a two dollars mascara be.  Turns out it can do a lot!

I honestly didn’t have high expectations for this mascara at all considering it’s only two dollars. However, I was beyond impressed with it’s performance. This has become my favourite mascara.

Elf products are known to be amazing products at low price and this product was no different. This mascara comes in an all white tube that has this amazing, sleek look.

I’ve tried many different brands of mascara such as Covergirl, Maybelline, and Revlon.  Although all of those brands are far more expensive than Elf, I found that the Elf mascara performed the highest.

The brush on this mascara is amazing. It’s definitely the best brush I’ve ever seen on an mascara.  The bristles are smaller which allows you to  get really close to the root of my eyelashes.  Most mascaras don’t allow me to do to that because of how large the bristles are. This was one thing that really impressed me about this product.

This mascara is completely clump free. It applies really easily leaving your eyelashes volumized and coated evenly. I usually have a hard time making my lower lashes look longer but this mascara definitely does the trick. Out of all the mascaras I’ve ever tried, this was the only mascara that allowed me to do this.

One thing that I did not like about this product is how long it takes to apply. Since the bristles are smaller, it doesn’t hold as much product as it would if the bristles were larger. This means you have to apply 4-5 coats to see great results with this mascara.

Overall, this is the best performing mascara I’ve ever tried, and I rate it a 5/5. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants a volumizing, clump free mascara.

20 Must Try Beauty Hacks

Untitled design (6)

  1. Contouring with eye shadow

Before I bought myself the Anastasia Contour Palette, using eyeshadow to contour my face was something that I lived by. Any matte brown eyeshadow will do the trick.

2.  Using baby powder as dry shampoo

This works the same way as dry shampoo does. All you have to do is apply the powder to the roots where you want it too look less oiler and massage it into the scalp.

IMG_72893.  Using bounce sheets to remove deodorant marks

I hate getting deodorant marks on my clothes, especially when I’m in a rush.  By rubbing dryer sheets on to the deodorant mark it eventually comes off.

4. Take a hot shower after doing your nails to remove excess nail polish

This is something I’ve been doing for years, and I love how well it works. I always manage to get some nail polish on to my fingers after applying nail polish. The hot water from the shower manages to remove all excess nail polish from my nails.

shower-head-424.jpg
5.  Using eye shadow as highlighter

Before getting a highlighter palette this is something I lived by.  Any shimmery, glittery eyeshadow will do the trick.

6.  Reduce frizz by drying your hair with an 100% cotton t-shirt

This is something I do every time I wash my hair. After showering I wrap my hair up in an 100% cotton t-shirt for about 20 minutes, then leave the rest of my hair to air dry.

7. Using hairspray as setting spray

Hairspray manages to keep my makeup in place, just like it does for my hair! I spray the hairspray about 15-20 centimetres away from my face to ensure I get just the right amount on to keep my makeup in place.

8. Sharpen the edges of your lipstick with concealer

This does wonders especially when wearing a dark lipstick. It makes the colour pop and look so much cleaner.

9. Use your phone flashlight to test makeup in different lighting

I love doing this because makeup looks different in different lightings. By shining your phone’s flashlight when testing your makeup you get to see every detail of your makeup.

10.Use white eyeliner to make your eyes appear more awake

I love doing this for the days when I look least awake. I just take apply a little bit of white eyeliner to the inner corner of my eyes and it makes me look a lot more awake.

11. Spray your bobby pins with hairspray before using them

This is great for those days when you want to wear a tight bun.  I hate having to fix or add more bobby pins throughout the day. When I started spraying my bobby pins with hairspray, I no longer had to fix my hair throughout the day.

Keep-Bobby-Pins-in-Place

12.  Highlight above your eyebrows for an instant eye lift

I love the look of highlighted brows. By applying highlighter on the upper corner of my brow, it makes me look a lot more awake.

IMG_730113.  Blow dry your eyelash curler before using it

The heat from the blow dryer keeps your eyelashes curled for much longer then it would without the heat.  Just make sure the curler isn’t hot before curling your lashes.

eyelash-curler.jpg14. Use coconut oil to remove makeup

This does wonders when I run out of makeup wipes. I put some on the palm of my hands and rub it onto my face until all the makeup from my face is removed. Then I just rinse the coconut oil off with warm water.

Unknown15. Make your hair look thicker using eyeshadow

In high school I had such thin hair from all the heat damage from straightening my hair everyday.  To ensure my hair didn’t look thin, I would apply a dark eyeshadow close to my natural hair colour to my part to make it look more fuller.

16.Make your nail polish dry faster by soaking them in a bowl of ice when your done painting them

I’m a very impatient person when it comes to waiting for my nails to dry. With this trick I save 5-10 minutes.

1304-hard_boiled_egg-217. Using an Eyeshadow Brush to contour your nose

This is a trick that I live by.  I find that using an eyeshadow brush to contour my nose makes it look more defined then it does when using a contour brush.

18. Pluck your brows after you shower

I used to pluck my eyebrows before I showered until I learned that it’s actually better to pluck them after you’re done showering. The steam and heat from the water opens your pores making it easier to pluck.

IMG_730319.  Remove mascara strains after it dries

Getting mascara on to my face while applying it is something that happens pretty often.  When it gets on to my face, I let it dry then I remove the dried mascara with a wet q-tip.  It’s better to remove mascara when it’s dried because when it’s wet it’s harder to remove and it spreads getting onto more of your face.

20. Use honey and lemon to clear skin

I was surprised with the results of this hack.  Taking 1/2 of a lemon, and a teaspoon of honey does wonders. After just one use of this my skin was brighter, and it cleared some of my blemishes.

Review: NYX HD Studio Photogenic Concealer

Untitled design (7)

Hi everyone! I’m so so excited to be reviewing this product for you guys.  NYX is one of my favourite drugstore makeup brands so I was really excited to try out their concealers.

Before buying this product I heard amazing things about it so I was so excited to test it out for myself. I must admit I was pretty impressed with how well this concealer performed.

When I bought this concealer I was looking for something that would be able to highlight my eyebrows, and under eye.

This product retails for $8 at NYX, and it comes in many different shades.

$(KGrHqR,!iQFCT7!eUjGBQpc0Evw6w~~60_129pr90o

I bought the colour CW 07: Tan and this is what the packaging looks like. I was impressed with how pretty the packaging is. It feels sturdy and looks like an high end concealer. If you guys own any of NYX’s liquid lipsticks from their Lingerie line, the packaging feels exactly the same.  This concealer has 0.11/3g of product in it which is standard for a concealer.

c28c92547c07e1119d3a5a7647293fb2

I was impressed with how creamy the consistency is.  It applies, and blends so easily. The concealer I owned before was difficult to blend because of how thick the consistency was but NYX definitely nailed it with this concealer.

I was a little disappointed with the colour. The lady at the NYX store suggested I got Tan because she said it would be great for highlighting. However, when this concealer is blended out it appears to be the same shade as my skin. I know this isn’t the concealer’s fault but next time I do purchase this product I’ll go a shade lighter. I find that the colour on the packaging is lighter then the product actually is.

FullSizeRender

This is what CW 07 looks like swatched on my hand

Overall, I give this product a 4.5/5. If the colour had worked for me it would have been perfect. This is definitely a product I will be buying in the future, and would recommend to others. If you guys are planning in buying this concealer, I would suggest to really pay attention to the colouring.

DIY Your Own Little Makeup Vanity

untitled-design-5

Hi guys! This is my first beauty post and I’m so excited to share this with you. It’s every girl’s dream to have their own makeup vanity dedicated to just beauty products, but what if you don’t have the space or the money?

I recently moved, and have not yet bought myself a vanity for my room. I have not yet decided on the colour scheme for my room, so I had to get creative with where and how I do my makeup.

Here’s how I created my own little vanity with everything I had at home:

  1. Location

Location is most important, because this room is the place that need’s to have the best lighting in order to apply makeup.  In my house, the bathroom has really bright lighting so I knew that would be the perfect place to set up my little vanity. I use the left side of my counter just for my makeup and it keeps it really clean and organized. The best part of doing this DIY in your bathroom is you don’t have to worry about buying a mirror for your makeup!!.

 2. Shelf Liner

Shelf liner isn’t a must, but it does help protect your counter, or whatever surface your makeup is resting on.  Shelf liner is really affordable, and you can get an entire roll for $1.00 at your local Dollarstore or Dollartree. You can also use any fabric you have laying around your house, such as a small towel. I had extra liner from lining the drawers in my bathroom so I figured why not use the rest to protect the counter!!

If you guys are interested in seeing shelf liners, here’s the link to the one I got at Dollar Tree:

3.Brush Holders

For Brush holders, you can literally use any cup you like. The one that I use is actually a pencil holder and had sitting around for a while.  I love how big it is, and holds my brushes comfortably. One thing that I see a lot of beauty gurus use is the cute white plant holders at ikea.

  1. Makeup Holder

When I was living on residence my first year of University, I needed something small with a lot of storage to hold my makeup. I got this one at Winners for about $6.99 but it did come in handy. It does an amazing job at holding all my makeup. If you guys don’t have a makeup holder, that’s absolutely fine, you can just lay your makeup out on your shelf liner.

Here’s a link to a makeup organizer if you guys are interested:

  1. Stool or Chair (OPTIONAL)

This step is optional. Usually I stand and apply my makeup but if you guys find it’s easier to apply your makeup while sitting you can add a stool or a chair.

Here’s the link to the stool for the picture. This particular stool is $39.99.

7. Mirror

If you choose to do this DIY somewhere other then a bathroom, chances are you’re going to need a mirror. You can find Mirrors to do your makeup almost anywhere! I got mine at the Dollarama, and it was a $1.25. If you guys want one that light’s up here’s one available on Amazon for $35.99.

Now that your setup is all done just add your makeup to your makeup holder and you’re all done.
